Definition of Personal Data
In the European Union, under the legal framework of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), personal data is defined as follows:
Any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (hereinafter "data subject"); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person. Individual EU member states may have their own unique definition of personal data, and non-European countries also may define personal data in their own way. IDT endeavors to comply with data privacy regulations worldwide.
Legal Basis for the Collection of Personal Data under GDPR
If you provide your consent for the processing of personal data, then Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR serves as the legal basis for the processing of your personal data.
When processing your personal data to fulfil a contract between you and IDT, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR serves as the legal basis. This also applies to processing operations that are necessary to carry out pre-contractual measures.
When the processing of personal data is required to fulfill a legal obligation to which our company is subject, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR serves as the legal basis.
If processing is necessary to safeguard a legitimate interest of our company or a third party and if the interests, fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject do not outweigh the first-mentioned interest, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR serves as the legal basis for the processing.
Data Erasure and Storage Period
Your personal data will be erased (or the processing will be restricted and/or blocked) as soon as the need for such information ceases to apply. Data may be stored indefinitely if this has been provided for by the relevant laws, regulations or other legal provisos to which the controller is subject worldwide. Data will also be restricted or deleted if a storage period prescribed by the aforementioned legal provision expires, unless there is a need for further storage of the data for the conclusion or fulfilment of a contract.
Collection and Processing of Personal Data

On this website, Google Analytics has been extended by the code "gat._anonymizeIp();" to ensure anonymous collection of IP addresses (so-called IP masking). The IP address transmitted by your browser in the context of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.
Google Tag Manager
IDT uses the Google Tag Manager function. Google Tag Manager does not collect any personal data – the function makes it easier for IDT to integrate and manage our tags. Tags are small code elements used, among other things, to measure traffic and visitor behavior, to measure the impact of online advertising and social channels, to set up remarketing and targeting, and to test and optimize websites. We use the Tag Manager in conjunction with Google Services, Google Analytics and GA Audience. As noted above, you can deactivate this functionality (Google Tags, Google Services, Google Analytics and GA Audience) by deactivating Google Analytics. Deactivation of these functions may impact the responsiveness of our websites.

IDT uses technical and organizational security measures to protect your data managed by us against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorized persons. Our security measures are continuously improved according to technological developments.
When you transact business with IDT, our goal is to ensure that your information is transmitted across the web using certain security measures. We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, which encrypts sensitive information such as your name, address, phone number, credit card, etc. The IDT.com web site also uses digital certificates which allow your browser to confirm that the server you are transacting with is IDT’s server. During the transaction, the server is identified to your browser and the information is encrypted before your personal information is transmitted.
Access to your personal information is limited to IDT employees and its services providers as described above. All personal information is protected through password access, which is only made available to identified corporate users.
We actively monitor and enhance our security on an ongoing basis, implementing website security technologies such as secure servers, firewalls, and encryption of financial data, to protect the safety of your personal data.
